Exclusive seller leads: what you get, and what you do not

4 min read

An exclusive seller lead is sold to one buyer only. On DrivenSellers, once you buy a lead no one else can. Exclusive does not mean the owner will only talk to you. It means we never sell that lead twice. Every exclusive lead is guaranteed for 5 days: a 5-day refund window if it is not as described.

What is an exclusive seller lead?

It is a seller lead that one buyer owns. The provider does not sell it to anyone else. On DrivenSellers that means one buyer per exclusive lead, and the lead is gone from the feed the moment you buy it.

The word exclusive is easy to print and hard to prove. A fair question for any provider is simple: how many buyers can get this lead, and do you ever sell it again?

Our answer is on every card: the lead carries an Exclusive tag. It is sold once, at the listed price, to the buyer who gets there first.

A lead is a homeowner who wants to sell for a cash offer. We check each one before it goes live, and the card shows what we found.

Does exclusive mean the seller will only talk to me?

No. Exclusive covers what we do. We sell the lead to one buyer. It does not stop the owner from talking to other investors, agents or buyers on their own. Nobody can promise that.

An owner can answer a mailer, call a neighbor, or list with an agent at any time. A company that says otherwise is promising more than it can control.

What exclusive does give you is this: no other DrivenSellers buyer is calling that same person from the same lead. You are not in a race to call first, and the owner does not hear from a stack of buyers who all got the same lead.

How can I check that a lead is really exclusive?

Ask the provider for the rule in plain words, then look for it on the product. Ask how many buyers get a lead, whether it is ever resold, what you can see before you pay, and what happens if it is not as described.

When you compare providers, put these questions to each one:

  • How many buyers can receive one lead?
  • Do you ever sell it again, even later?
  • Can I see the facts and the price before I buy?
  • What happens if the seller is not who the lead said?
  • Is the refund window written down, and how long is it?

Our answers: one buyer, no resale, yes you see the facts and the price first, a credit back to your wallet, and a window of 5 days. The details are in the refund policy.

How much does an exclusive lead cost, and why?

Each lead has one fixed price set by its grade: $99 for C, $169 for B, $249 for A and $349 for A+. The price is shown before you buy and is the same for every buyer.

List price by grade
GradeHow likely to sell soonList price
A+Most likely$349
AVery likely$249
BCould sell soon$169
CNot likely, or no clear plan$99
List price by grade

The price pays for a lead that only you work. It also reflects the grade, so a seller with a short timeline and a hard reason costs more than one who is only looking. You pay from your wallet. A plan is optional and does not change the price of a lead.

Are exclusive leads better than door hangers and cold texts?

They start in a different place. With a lead you follow up with an owner who wants to sell for a cash offer. With door hangers and cold texts you start with a stranger. Neither one guarantees a deal.

Some investors like door hangers and mail because the cost per piece is low. Others find the reply rate too slow. The honest way to know is to track your own numbers.

  • What you spend for each real conversation with an owner
  • What you spend for each signed contract
  • How many hours you spend for each conversation

Run each channel for a month. Keep the one with the lowest cost per contract, and drop the rest. Many investors use leads for speed and keep mail or driving for dollars running in the background.

How do I contact an exclusive seller without being spammy?

Say who you are and why you are calling. Do not pretend you know them. Follow calling and texting rules, check the Do-Not-Call lists, and stop at once if the owner asks you to. Short and honest beats clever.

Once you own a lead, how you call, text or e-mail that person is your responsibility. These habits keep you out of trouble and keep owners willing to talk:

  • Follow federal and state calling and texting rules, including the TCPA.
  • Check the Do-Not-Call lists in your own process.
  • Know the call-recording rules in your state and theirs.
  • Honor anyone who tells you to stop.

What if an exclusive lead is not as described?

Every exclusive lead is guaranteed for 5 days: a 5-day refund window if it is not as described. You can ask once per lead. When a lead is not as described, the price goes back to your wallet. Any part you paid with a bonus goes back to your bonus balance.

Open MyCRM, find the lead and choose Request refund. You can also write to us from the Support page. We reply in the same place and by e-mail. A refunded lead cannot be bought again.

The seller's details stay in MyCRM after a refund. Read the refund policy for the exact rules.

Common questions

Short answers to what investors ask before they buy.

Can an exclusive lead be sold twice?

No. Once you buy it, it is yours alone and no one else can buy it.

Does exclusive mean the seller has not talked to anyone else?

No. It means we sell the lead to one buyer. The owner can still speak with other investors or agents on their own.

What do I see before I buy an exclusive lead?

You see the grade, the price, the area and the facts we checked, such as why the owner sells and how soon. The name, phone and exact address unlock when you buy.

Do exclusive leads have a fixed price?

Yes. The price is set by grade, from $99 to $349, and shown before you buy. There is no bidding on the feed.

Can I try before I commit?

Yes. A free account needs no card. You can open lead cards first and add funds only when you pick one.

Do I have to follow any rules when I call the seller?

Yes. You are responsible for the calling and texting laws, the Do-Not-Call lists, recording rules, and honoring a request to stop.
